Registries may ask where and when the event took place, so have the place, date and your ID details ready. Whether you must book a visit depends on the office. Online requests are often the quickest route, so some offices may point you there first.

Use the full application rather than the one-click option for another person, another language, a multilingual/extract certificate, or a certificate specifically for a first DNI (Spanish national identity card) or passport. A third-party request may require authorisation. Do not repeat a non-instant request within 15 days.
