TGSS offices for your Social Security number in Spain

Local offices help in person, and you may already have a number

The Tesorería General de la Seguridad Social (TGSS) has several branches in some cities, and each has its own way of taking visitors. Choose a city to see what an office handles, whether you can walk in or should book first, and what to bring. The Social Security number alone does not register a job or give you healthcare, so check which step you are at.

    TGSS – 47/03 – Valladolid

    Calle Sajambre 21, 47008 Valladolid

Begin online if possible, and check that a local office covers your home or employer before you travel.

For Importass prepare DNI/NIE details, usual address, mobile and email. Without a NUSS (social security number) you cannot identify by SMS. The route without Cl@ve/certificate asks for document images and a selfie; emancipated minors also provide emancipation evidence. For a child prepare the parent/guardian’s details, selfie and ID, TA.1 with the child’s details, the child’s ID and family/guardianship evidence. For a counter request prepare signed TA.1 and the applicable identity document; the general procedure accepts a foreigner card or passport, but an adult with only a passport may not be able to use the online route. If a number is already assigned, use Importass “Acreditación del Número de la Seguridad Social” to consult it and download proof of your existing NUSS/NAF instead of requesting another number. An existing number may come from earlier work or school insurance. This proof identifies the number; it does not certify current employment registration or entitlement to a particular benefit.

TGSS Valladolid – Administraciones de Boston 6

    Calle Boston 6, 47007 Valladolid

Apply online, even without Cl@ve or an electronic certificate, or ask which office handles your address.

For Importass prepare DNI/NIE details, your usual address, mobile and email. Without a NUSS (social security number) you cannot identify by SMS; the no-certificate route instead asks for identity-document images and a selfie. Adults apply in their own name; emancipated minors also provide emancipation evidence. For a child prepare the parent/guardian’s details, selfie and ID, TA.1 with the child’s details, the child’s ID and family/guardianship evidence. For an in-person request, prepare signed TA.1 and the applicable identity document; the general procedure also asks for a foreigner card or passport. Ask TGSS (Spain’s social security registration office) which route fits your documents instead of assuming the online form accepts a passport-only adult application.
