Offices where you can deregister in Germany

Post, online or in person: it depends on the city

You report your departure to the registration office of the place you are leaving, and you can often choose between a visit, a written form and an online request. Open your city to see which of these its offices accept and what identification to send or bring.

2 offices in Schwerin
  • Schwerin

    Fachgruppe BürgerBüro – Stadthaus Schwerin

    Am Packhof 2–6, 19053 Schwerin

If everyone in your family is German, walk in on Mondays or book ahead for Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Complete and sign the official Abmeldeschein. Have your identity card or passport available, and the documents of family members included on the same form. For children without a child passport, a birth certificate is needed; this does not mean a new Kinderreisepass can be issued. Family members leaving the same home together should use one shared form. Confirm the submission address and any copy requirements with the BürgerBüro before posting.

  • Schwerin

    Landeshauptstadt Schwerin — Fachgruppe Ausländerbehörde

Am Packhof 2–6, Stadthaus, 19053 Schwerin

Book for every person who is leaving, and phone first if your family has mixed nationalities.

Bring identity/travel documents, the destination address and applicable residence-status documents; prepare any required custody consent. The local booking checklist also asks for landlord move-out confirmation. Current federal landlord-confirmation rules concern move-in, so clarify that checklist item with the authority before your visit.
