Registry offices for birth, marriage and death certificates

Your home city may not be the right one: the place of the event decides

Choose the city that holds the entry you need. Each office shows how it takes orders, whether online, by post or at the counter, and what proof of identity or family relationship to bring. Delivery and payment rules differ, so check them before you order, and confirm opening times and booking rules before you travel to an office.

    Standesamt Stuttgart

    Eberhardstraße 6, 70173 Stuttgart

One online service covers all Stuttgart districts, and each type of certificate needs its own order.

Have the person’s details and event date/place ready, plus the required document type and delivery address. Bring ID for a visit; representatives need written authority and their own ID. Supply evidence of entitlement where required: siblings requesting birth or death records must substantiate a legitimate interest, and for death records also prove the relationship. Online birth-certificate orders allow direct debit or credit card. For overseas use, check whether a multilingual certificate or additional authentication is required.
