Immigration offices for EU, EEA and Swiss residents

Each city’s immigration office has its own way of taking enquiries

These cases go to the local immigration office, which can be a city department, a district office or, in Berlin, the Landesamt für Einwanderung. Many ask you to email, phone or use a contact form before they give an appointment. Pick your city to see which cases its office handles and what to prepare, such as your passport and proof of your address.

    Regensburger Straße 231, 90478 Nuremberg

Start online and wait for the city’s letter with your appointment, and ask separately how to report your stay.

Prepare the identity page of your valid passport or accepted identity document and evidence of your free-movement ground: employment or job offer; business activity or freelance tax details; or study, sufficient means and health insurance as applicable. The office can request further evidence. Confirm current photo and original-document requirements for the appointment. The Swiss document fee is €27.60 below age 24 and €46 from age 24. Those amounts are not the fees for non-Swiss family members. Keep the submission receipt; a saved draft is not a filed application.
