Offices for social assistance across Germany

Your address decides which office is yours

A single city can have many offices for living-cost support, each looking after certain districts or surnames, and some also help older people or people with disabilities. Look up your city to see what each office handles, how it wants to be contacted first and what to bring to the visit.

Apply online or call for an appointment, but ask about access first, as the building is not barrier-free.

Prepare identification, evidence of permanent full reduction in earning capacity where relevant, income records including pensions from abroad and partner income, and asset records. Include rent and heating costs, insurance contributions and relevant family documents such as maintenance orders. Online, complete and submit the application rather than leaving it saved as a draft. The office may request more evidence for your case.
