Leipzig
Stadt Leipzig — Fahrerlaubnisbehörde
Prager Straße 130–136, Technisches Rathaus, Haus A; Eingang A.I, Wartebereich A.1.014, 04317 Leipzig
In the usual case the city keeps your licence for about four weeks to have the police check it is genuine.
Bring passport or identity document, current national licence and a biometric photograph. The city requires an officially recognised German translation; its Annex 11 page exempts Swiss and British licences from that translation requirement. For ordinary third-country cases, provide driving-school name/address, first-aid training of at least nine 45-minute units with practical exercises rather than online-only training, and the required eyesight evidence. Annex 11 eyesight and first-aid requirements depend on that country/category. Lorry and bus categories can require further medical, performance and criminal-record evidence; obtain the correct list for your class.
