Passport offices are part of the regional government offices, and each one has its own routine. Some work with online reservations, others also give out queue tickets that can run out late in the day, and some offer special arrangements for people with limited mobility. Where the finished passport is handed over also depends on the office.

Bring the previous passport when collecting; tell the officer about any valid visas before cancellation. A court-appointed guardian or curator needs evidence of authority: the applicant attends submission, but need not accompany the guardian for collection.
