Where to apply for a Dutch identity card

Applications and collection work differently in each city

You apply at the municipality where you are registered, and each one sets its own routine. Some ask you to book ahead, some need a second visit to hand over the card and some deliver it. Dutch citizens who live abroad can also use certain border municipalities.

    Inwonersplein Eindhoven

    Stadhuisplein 1, 5611 EM Eindhoven

If you live in Eindhoven you can book a visit, Saturdays included, and collect later without another appointment.

Bring all valid and expired identity documents, including travel documents from another nationality, a compliant photograph no more than six months old, and payment. There is no photo booth at the Inwonersplein. Adults under curatele also need the curator’s written consent and identification or a copy. For children under 12, the child attends with a parent or guardian and everyone with parental authority must consent; bring their valid identification or signed copies. DigiD (the Dutch digital ID for government websites) consent provides a case number, or use the printed form signed after printing. From age 12, parental consent is not required for an ID card.
