Pick the city where the event was registered
A certificate can only be issued by the municipality that registered the birth, marriage, partnership or death, and moving to another city later does not change that. Requests may go in online with DigiD, by post or at the counter, depending on the office, and the document reaches you in different ways. A valid ID is required.

Order a birth, marriage or death record online, and if you live abroad you can do it without DigiD.
Identify the event and document required. A representative normally needs authorisation, with exceptions stated for records of children/grandchildren, parents/grandparents and spouses. Check legalisation requirements with the receiving authority; an apostille, when needed, is arranged through the court.
