Offices for fingerprints and residence card pickup in Poland

Some branches serve only their own cases, so check before you travel

Residence cards come from the foreigners’ department of a regional government office, and some regions also run branches in other towns. Choose a city to see whether its office works with online booking, queue tickets or a date agreed by phone, and what to bring.

Call to arrange a day for your card application, or apply by post and still come in for the fingerprint check.

Prepare the Polish-language card form, two compliant 35 × 45 mm photographs taken within the last six months, a passport copy with the original for inspection, evidence supporting the change, and proof of payment of the applicable fee. Fingerprints are taken from age six. The fee is normally PLN 100, PLN 200 for a first loss or destruction that is your fault, and PLN 300 for any further one; ask whether you qualify for a 50% reduction and what proof you need. Report loss or damage to the issuing authority within three days and apply for a replacement within 14 days of the relevant change or loss. Request your next permanent-residence or EU long-term resident card at least 30 days before the current one expires.
