Where to deregister in the Netherlands before you leave

Your own municipality takes your departure, so start with your city

You deregister from the municipality where you currently live, so pick that city. Each office shows whether a whole household can report online or everyone has to come in person, whether it can give a certificate of deregistration, and what to bring, such as ID for everyone who is leaving.

Use DigiD if nobody stays at your address, or book a visit where everyone who is leaving comes in person.

Bring your identity document to a counter appointment. If moving to Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius or Saba, ask for the free deregistration certificate needed to register there. Do not treat a digital receipt as that certificate.
