Where to deregister in the Netherlands before you leave

Your own municipality takes your departure, so start with your city

You deregister from the municipality where you currently live, so pick that city. Each office shows whether a whole household can report online or everyone has to come in person, whether it can give a certificate of deregistration, and what to bring, such as ID for everyone who is leaving.

    Gemeente Zoetermeer — Publieksplein

    Engelandlaan 502, 2711 EB Zoetermeer

Report your departure online in the last five days before you leave, or book a visit if family stays behind.

Bring valid ID for everyone attending. Ask about the departure document needed for Caribbean registration. Evidence of intended departure is distinct from an RNI (register for non-residents) extract recording an already processed departure.
