Where to deregister in the Netherlands before you leave

Your own municipality takes your departure, so start with your city

You deregister from the municipality where you currently live, so pick that city. Each office shows whether a whole household can report online or everyone has to come in person, whether it can give a certificate of deregistration, and what to bring, such as ID for everyone who is leaving.

    Gemeente Maastricht – GemeenteLoket

Mosae Forum 10, 6211 DW Maastricht

Report online with DigiD, or return the signed municipal form with a copy of your ID by email or post.

Prepare the planned departure date, foreign address and identification details. Check the municipality’s representation rules before reporting for another adult. Ask for any needed deregistration certificate with the departure report and retain the case number: Maastricht does not process a request without it. Follow the dedicated certificate-request instructions on the city’s website. Confirm the effective registration date and the procedure for a household that is not all leaving.
