Where to deregister in the Netherlands before you leave

Your own municipality takes your departure, so start with your city

You deregister from the municipality where you currently live, so pick that city. Each office shows whether a whole household can report online or everyone has to come in person, whether it can give a certificate of deregistration, and what to bring, such as ID for everyone who is leaving.

    Gemeente Haarlem — Publiekshal Raakspoort

    Zijlvest 39, 2011 VB Haarlem

Book a visit or walk in on weekday mornings, and bring every family member who is leaving, children included.

Bring ID. For the permitted postal route, send an ID copy and signed letter listing departing relatives, destination country, new town/address if known, departure date and email for the certificate to Gemeente Haarlem, Afdeling Klantcontactcentrum, Postbus 511, 2003 PB Haarlem.
