Where to deregister in the Netherlands before you leave

Your own municipality takes your departure, so start with your city

You deregister from the municipality where you currently live, so pick that city. Each office shows whether a whole household can report online or everyone has to come in person, whether it can give a certificate of deregistration, and what to bring, such as ID for everyone who is leaving.

Gemeente Groningen – Loket Centrum (Burgerzaken en RNI)

    Kreupelstraat 1, 9712 HW Groningen

Report with DigiD, with a form by post if you have no DigiD, or book a counter visit if family stays behind.

For an appointment, bring valid identification for yourself and the family members concerned. For a postal report, send your personal details, departure date, old and new addresses, names and valid ID copies of everyone leaving, and your signature to Gemeente Groningen, Postbus 30026, 9700 RM Groningen. If you are not authorised to report for another family member, that person must make a separate report.
