Where to deregister in the Netherlands before you leave

Your own municipality takes your departure, so start with your city

You deregister from the municipality where you currently live, so pick that city. Each office shows whether a whole household can report online or everyone has to come in person, whether it can give a certificate of deregistration, and what to bring, such as ID for everyone who is leaving.

    Inwonersplein Eindhoven

    Stadhuisplein 1, 5611 EM Eindhoven

Report in the last five days before you leave, and proof of deregistration is posted to your new address.

Bring valid identification to the counter. Without DigiD (the Dutch digital ID for government websites), where a postal application is allowed, complete the municipal departure form, download and print it, sign it and send it with an ID copy to the address on the form. Provide your new address so the certificate can reach you.
