Where to deregister in the Netherlands before you leave

Your own municipality takes your departure, so start with your city

You deregister from the municipality where you currently live, so pick that city. Each office shows whether a whole household can report online or everyone has to come in person, whether it can give a certificate of deregistration, and what to bring, such as ID for everyone who is leaving.

    Laan Nieuwer-Amstel 1, 1182 JR Amstelveen

Report online if the whole family moves to the same address abroad, otherwise everyone leaving must come in person.

Have your DigiD (the Dutch digital ID for government websites) or BSN (citizen service number) ready, plus the BSNs of the partner or children included. When one parent leaves with minor children and both parents share custody and live at the same address, bring written consent and identity-document copies from both parents.
