Offices for reporting a move in the Netherlands

See which online and counter options your city offers

The municipality you move to is the one that needs to hear about it, and each one has its own routine. Some take reports online with DigiD, some only at the counter and some both, and all of them ask for ID and proof of your new home.

Report your move digitally or at a booked visit, and remember that students moving into a room must report too.

Have valid identification and evidence that you may live at the address, such as a rental contract, purchase deed or main resident’s consent. Check the municipal form for the evidence needed in your situation. National rules allow authorised reporting, but do not use someone else’s DigiD (the Dutch digital ID for government websites).
