Offices for reporting a move in the Netherlands

See which online and counter options your city offers

The municipality you move to is the one that needs to hear about it, and each one has its own routine. Some take reports online with DigiD, some only at the counter and some both, and all of them ask for ID and proof of your new home.

Report your move online with DigiD, and phone for a counter appointment if the form fails or you cannot use DigiD.

For lodging with someone, complete the form together: the main resident must immediately consent with DigiD (the Dutch digital ID for government websites). An authorised adult needs authority and identity evidence for both people. Contact the council for under-16 guardianship cases.
