Offices for reporting a move in the Netherlands

See which online and counter options your city offers

The municipality you move to is the one that needs to hear about it, and each one has its own routine. Some take reports online with DigiD, some only at the counter and some both, and all of them ask for ID and proof of your new home.

Report your move online up to four weeks before or within five days after, or book a visit to do it in person.

For a postal report, include everyone’s full name, birth date, old and new address and moving date, your contact details, signature and ID copy. Send it to Publieke Dienstverlening, Postbus 12345, 5200 GZ ’s-Hertogenbosch. People aged 16 or over may report themselves; family reporting is restricted to specific relationships and shared-address conditions, so check the city’s website for the details.
