Offices for reporting a move in the Netherlands

See which online and counter options your city offers

The municipality you move to is the one that needs to hear about it, and each one has its own routine. Some take reports online with DigiD, some only at the counter and some both, and all of them ask for ID and proof of your new home.

Report your move online with DigiD or send the form by post, and allow up to five weeks for processing.

For post, send the completed form, marked ID copy and housing evidence to Gemeente Rotterdam, Postbus 70013, 3000 KR Rotterdam. Use the housing checklist: rental and landlord documents and lodging declarations must be no older than three months; owner evidence and host ID depend on the situation. A child under 16 moving separately must be reported by post. For foster children add the placement evidence and carer’s ID.
