Offices for reporting a move in the Netherlands

See which online and counter options your city offers

The municipality you move to is the one that needs to hear about it, and each one has its own routine. Some take reports online with DigiD, some only at the counter and some both, and all of them ask for ID and proof of your new home.

Report your move for free with DigiD, then allow up to four weeks for it to be processed.

Supply only the contract pages with new address, personal details, effective date and signatures. Lodging requires main-resident consent and ID copy, plus landlord/housing-association consent for a rented property. The Woonin exception for moving in with your renting parents does not cover your accompanying children. Bring valid ID for a visit and confirm the needed consents before submitting.
