Offices for reporting a move in the Netherlands

See which online and counter options your city offers

The municipality you move to is the one that needs to hear about it, and each one has its own routine. Some take reports online with DigiD, some only at the counter and some both, and all of them ask for ID and proof of your new home.

Gemeente Groningen – Loket Centrum (Burgerzaken en RNI)

    Kreupelstraat 1, 9712 HW Groningen

Even without DigiD you can report with a form, a booked visit or a postal notice.

Tenants supply their rental contract; buyers do not upload a purchase contract because Groningen obtains ownership information from the Kadaster. When moving in with someone, both people can sign in with DigiD (the Dutch digital ID for government websites) on the same device; otherwise provide the occupancy declaration and the consenting resident’s ID copy. Bring your own passport, ID card or driving licence to an appointment. Ask the municipality for advice if you have no rental contract.
