Offices for reporting a move in the Netherlands

See which online and counter options your city offers

The municipality you move to is the one that needs to hear about it, and each one has its own routine. Some take reports online with DigiD, some only at the counter and some both, and all of them ask for ID and proof of your new home.

Report online, and note that unmarried partners without a registered partnership must each report separately.

Provide valid ID and a rental or purchase contract copy. Lodgers need the main resident’s consent form and ID copy, including when moving in with parents. A care-home move also requires the institution’s resident declaration.
