Offices for reporting a move in the Netherlands

See which online and counter options your city offers

The municipality you move to is the one that needs to hear about it, and each one has its own routine. Some take reports online with DigiD, some only at the counter and some both, and all of them ask for ID and proof of your new home.

    Stadhuis Deventer — Burgerzaken

Grote Kerkhof 1, 7411 KT Deventer

You can report up to four weeks ahead, though the registered address only changes on your actual moving date.

Provide valid identification for everyone moving. Room tenants need their rental contract. When joining another household, obtain the main resident’s consent: online they can consent using DigiD (the Dutch digital ID for government websites), or supply the consent form and their ID copy. An authorised representative needs written authorisation.
