Offices for reporting a move in the Netherlands

See which online and counter options your city offers

The municipality you move to is the one that needs to hear about it, and each one has its own routine. Some take reports online with DigiD, some only at the counter and some both, and all of them ask for ID and proof of your new home.

Report your move online, at a counter appointment or on a paper form, which also comes in English.

Bring valid ID. For a written report, include an ID copy. Moving into someone’s home requires the main resident’s signed consent and ID copy, or their DigiD (the Dutch digital ID for government websites) consent during the online report. For a care institution, use its stamped consent declaration; no manager’s ID copy is required. Use the official authorisation form for a representative.
