Offices for reporting a move in the Netherlands

See which online and counter options your city offers

The municipality you move to is the one that needs to hear about it, and each one has its own routine. Some take reports online with DigiD, some only at the counter and some both, and all of them ask for ID and proof of your new home.

Report your move with DigiD, or drop in for help from digital hosts if you bring your documents and DigiD access.

Upload signed rental or ownership evidence, or host consent plus host ID; property guardians need their occupancy agreement. A child under 16 moving alone requires a counter appointment, the consent form and ID copies of all legal representatives.

Prepare written authorisation if reporting another person’s move outside the family cases the municipality allows.

  • Amsterdam

    Stadsloket Zuidoost

Anton de Komplein 150, 1102 CW Amsterdam

Walk in without an appointment or report online, and change a parking permit only after your new address is registered.

Bring identification and a copy of the rental or purchase contract through the signature page. If moving in with someone, obtain consent and a copy of valid identification from the resident registered longest at the address. For anti-squat accommodation, provide the occupancy agreement.

  • Apeldoorn

    Huis van de Stad Apeldoorn

    Marktplein 1, 7311 LG Apeldoorn

Report your move online, at a counter appointment or on a paper form, which also comes in English.

Bring valid ID. For a written report, include an ID copy. Moving into someone’s home requires the main resident’s signed consent and ID copy, or their DigiD (the Dutch digital ID for government websites) consent during the online report. For a care institution, use its stamped consent declaration; no manager’s ID copy is required. Use the official authorisation form for a representative.

  • Arnhem

    Gemeente Arnhem — Loket Zuid

    Kronenburggalerij 3, 6831 ET Arnhem

Report your move online or send the signed form by post, and when you book, choose the counter you want.

Provide a copy of the rental contract, purchase contract or ownership evidence. • Barneveld

    Gemeentehuis Barneveld — Publiekszaken

  • Bergen op Zoom

    Stadskantoor Bergen op Zoom

Jacob Obrechtlaan 4, 4611 AR Bergen op Zoom

Bring valid ID to the counter. For lodging, prepare the signed Verklaring van inwoning and the main resident’s valid ID copy. If moving into an institution, add its housing declaration. Representatives need signed authority.

  • Bovenkarspel

    Gemeente Stede Broec — Burgerzaken

De Middend 2, Gemeentehuis, 1611 KW Bovenkarspel

Report your move within five days, since a late report counts from the day it arrives and may affect your benefits.

Have your actual move date, new address and valid identity evidence ready. Ask which housing or co-resident-consent documents are required; there is no full local checklist. Some public services receive your address update, but banks and other commercial organizations must be told separately. A disability parking card, stairlift or other local provision does not automatically transfer to a new municipality.

Claudius Prinsenlaan 10, 4811 DJ Breda

Use the DigiD form, but a move involving only a minor child cannot be reported online.

For lodging in housing-association accommodation, obtain the main tenant’s signed consent and ID copy. For renting an owner’s private property, obtain the owner’s consent and ID copy. This consent is not needed when you lodge with someone who rents from a company; check the housing rules for your situation.

  • Delft

    Gemeente Delft — Stadskantoor

    Stationsplein 1, 2611 BV Delft

Report online, on paper or at an appointment, and for a newly built home wait until it has been handed over.

Provide your rental or purchase agreement or care-institution admission evidence. Lodgers and subtenants also need permission from the main resident and property owner, plus the main resident’s or owner’s housing agreement and ID copy. Returning to your parents at an address where you lived before requires their written consent and ID copy.

Report online with DigiD or book a visit, and a move involving only your minor child has to be reported in person.

Upload the signed tenancy agreement or purchase-contract pages showing ownership, address and buyer/seller signatures. For lodging, provide the main resident’s signed consent and their BSN (citizen service number) or ID copy online; the counter checklist requests their ID copy. Representatives bring written permission, their own ID and the applicant’s ID copy.

  • Deventer

    Stadhuis Deventer — Burgerzaken

Grote Kerkhof 1, 7411 KT Deventer

You can report up to four weeks ahead, though the registered address only changes on your actual moving date.

Provide valid identification for everyone moving. Room tenants need their rental contract.
