Apply where you live and collect the card in the same place
Applications go to the municipality where you are registered, so the office depends on your address. Towns take bookings online, by phone or at the counter, and some give each family member a separate slot. When the card is ready you collect it in person, and the PIN letter arrives by post.

Every counter visit needs an appointment, so book the pick-up too once your code letter arrives.
Bring a compliant photo taken within six months, your old card and a bank card; payment is by bank card only. For collection bring the old card or loss/theft certificate and PIN/PUK letter. Store the codes safely at home, separately from the identity card.
