Offices that issue the Belgian identity card

Apply where you live and collect the card in the same place

Applications go to the municipality where you are registered, so the office depends on your address. Towns take bookings online, by phone or at the counter, and some give each family member a separate slot. When the card is ready you collect it in person, and the PIN letter arrives by post.

Book your application, then collect the card at the quick counter by reception once your codes arrive by post.

Bring your current card; after theft bring the police replacement certificate, or after loss another identity document. A compliant counter photograph is free; if supplying your own, it must be no more than six months old. For collection bring the old card or replacement document and the received codes. Keep PIN/PUK codes private.
