Offices that issue the Belgian identity card

Apply where you live and collect the card in the same place

Applications go to the municipality where you are registered, so the office depends on your address. Towns take bookings online, by phone or at the counter, and some give each family member a separate slot. When the card is ready you collect it in person, and the PIN letter arrives by post.

Brucity — ID card and residence permit

Rue des Halles 4, 1000 Brussels

Choose Brucity when you book the card for Belgians aged 12 and over, and collect it later without an appointment.

Bring your old identity card or the applicable loss/theft certificate. For collection also bring the new PIN sent to your home. If it has not arrived after three weeks, follow the federal PIN re-order link on the city’s website. Check current fees and urgency before ordering. Super-urgent collection takes place at the federal service at Rue des Colonies 1, not at Brucity. Check the current federal collection instructions and visitor entrance before travelling.
