Offices that help with eID codes and digital keys in Belgium

Check whether your town needs an appointment first

In some towns you can walk in and change a forgotten PIN on the spot, in others you book a counter slot, send a form to the population service or order new codes from the federal service first. Check your city to see which applies and what ID to bring.

Ask at the town hall’s express counter for an email-code login to online public services, even with a foreign passport.

Bring your identity card or foreign passport/identity document. After activation, this login method uses a username and password followed by a one-time code sent to your email.

Request replacement codes with the city’s online form, or ask whether a newer card can be reset on the spot.

Have your card, national-register number and contact details ready for your own request. Bring the card for counter assistance and confirm identification requirements. Replacement delivery can take up to a week; collect within three months of availability, otherwise the codes are destroyed and a new request is needed. Confirm the appropriate counter arrangements on +32 89 65 36 00.
