In some towns you can walk in and change a forgotten PIN on the spot, in others you book a counter slot, send a form to the population service or order new codes from the federal service first. Check your city to see which applies and what ID to bring.

Book a visit at the town hall and tell the staff which online government service you want the key for.
The city’s checklist asks for an identity card or passport. Explain the digital service and login problem beforehand, and confirm the current fee and any additional steps. For certificate orders, use the request form or contact the responsible service; the city’s technical-support email is not an ordering address.
