Offices that help with eID codes and digital keys in Belgium

Check whether your town needs an appointment first

In some towns you can walk in and change a forgotten PIN on the spot, in others you book a counter slot, send a form to the population service or order new codes from the federal service first. Check your city to see which applies and what ID to bring.

  • Aalst

    Administratief centrum Aalst

    Werf 9, 9300 Aalst

A PIN reset always needs a visit, and non-Belgians should book an appointment first.

Bring your identity card. If replacement codes are needed, use the official online request, the counter or the appropriate municipal email team. Wait until an address change is officially complete so codes do not go to the previous municipality. If a newly requested identity or residence card has no codes after three weeks, contact the relevant team rather than starting another card application.

  • Antwerp

    Loket Antwerpen-Harmonie

    Harmoniepark 1, 2018 Antwerp

Book a counter appointment, then finish the setup with the activation link that arrives by email.

Have access to the email address used during the appointment. Check the booking instructions for the identity documents required for your circumstances; a full checklist is not available. If your problem is a forgotten eID or residence-card PIN, follow the separate PIN-recovery instructions. Non-residents should bring a payment card or app because Harmonie does not accept cash.

  • Arlon

    Hôtel de Ville d’Arlon

Rue Paul Reuter 8, 6700 Arlon

Send the declaration form to the population service, or request new codes online if you can sign in.

Use the declaration form linked by the city and explain whether the codes never arrived or were lost. For normal collection of a new card, Arlon asks for your current identity document and the activation codes. Ask how to collect replacement codes, whether there is a charge and how long it takes. A new card is usually available in three to four weeks, but that is not a promised time for reissuing codes.
