Each town sets its own routine for extracts and copies

Each municipality runs its own civil registry counter. Some take online orders, others only booked visits.

Administration communale de Mons – Population, État civil et Étrangers

    Rue Buisseret 2, 7000 Mons

Apply online with eID or itsme, or book an appointment for an extract or copy in person.

Have your identity document, details of the record and any evidence of entitlement ready. Specify whether you need a copy or extract and its destination. For use abroad, ask whether legalisation or an apostille is actually required; the city links the federal eLegalisation service. If your document needs an FPS Foreign Affairs legalisation or apostille, the federal fee has been €25 per legalisation or apostille since 1 August 2026. This is separate from any municipal certificate fee; check whether your document and destination actually require it.
