Where to report a change of address in Belgium

Choose the city you moved to, not the one you left

A move is reported to the municipality you are moving to, and each one has its own routine: some take the report online or at a kiosk, others through a district office or by appointment. Afterwards you are asked to come in so your ID or residence card can be updated.

    Limburgplein 1, 3500 Hasselt

Declare your move online or in the city’s app, then update the address on your identity card within a month of approval.

Prepare your eID, new address and identity details for everyone moving with you. Be available for the unannounced residence check; if nobody is home the officer makes another attempt. Follow the later card-update instructions and bring the identification and codes the counter needs. Initial submission is not the completed residence check.
