Where to report a change of address in Belgium

Choose the city you moved to, not the one you left

A move is reported to the municipality you are moving to, and each one has its own routine: some take the report online or at a kiosk, others through a district office or by appointment. Afterwards you are asked to come in so your ID or residence card can be updated.

Tell the town hall about your move within eight working days, online or at the population department.

Prepare identification, your National Register number and the new address. Bring the relevant identity cards and PIN/PUK codes for the later chip update. Explain which household members are moving so the office can confirm any additional documents.
