Where to report a change of address in Belgium

Choose the city you moved to, not the one you left

A move is reported to the municipality you are moving to, and each one has its own routine: some take the report online or at a kiosk, others through a district office or by appointment. Afterwards you are asked to come in so your ID or residence card can be updated.

Report your move online first, then book a visit to update your card once the registration is confirmed.

Have the new address and national-register numbers for everyone moving. Bring each household member’s eID or electronic residence card and its PIN to the appointment. Care-home, recognised student-housing, caravan and houseboat moves need the relevant supporting evidence the city asks for. A parent, guardian or administrator must submit for a minor; guardians and administrators attach the required court or foster-care evidence. Paper residence documents and administratively removed residents need the separate document or migration route.
