Where to report a change of address in Belgium

Choose the city you moved to, not the one you left

A move is reported to the municipality you are moving to, and each one has its own routine: some take the report online or at a kiosk, others through a district office or by appointment. Afterwards you are asked to come in so your ID or residence card can be updated.

Report your move online, by email or in person, then update your card once the police have checked your address.

Prepare national-register numbers or names of family members moving, the new address, whether previous occupants remain, and phone and email contact details. State when you are at home for the police check, including shift work. Bring identity or residence cards and PINs for the later card update. A minor must attend with someone who has parental authority; bring any relevant custody or foster-care documents.
