Residence matters are handled by the foreigners’ department of the voivodeship office, and which one you apply to depends on where you live. Some offices have branches that serve nearby towns. How applications are taken, and when applicants are called in, varies from office to office; expect to show documents such as your original passport.

    Create an account in the new MOS (online residence application system) even if you had an old MOS account. Prepare a digital photo, scans of every page of your valid passport, applicable permit and card payment evidence, and the documents for your residence purpose. Where required, an employer, university or placement organiser must complete and electronically sign an attachment before you can submit. Use a trusted, qualified or personal electronic signature, save the UPO receipt, and keep originals for the visit. Do not wait until the last lawful-stay day: an unfinished draft or missing external signature is not a submitted application. MOS access is free; permit and card fees are separate.
