The licence is replaced by the transport department of the city or county office for your address. Some offices hand out tickets at a dedicated counter, others want a reservation online or by phone, and some start you at an information desk. Medical certificates for time-limited licences are another point where offices go their own way.

Keep the old licence for surrender before replacement. If applying electronically, scans alone do not replace the required original reports.
