Social assistance in Belgium
For people who cannot cover rent, food or other essentials: what the local social welfare centre can arrange and how to ask for an appointment.
Often done online, with a counter visit for special cases
Start the renewal of a Belgian licence before it expires, and ask for a replacement if it is lost, stolen or damaged. In many cases you apply online through BelDrive with your electronic ID or the itsme app, then collect the new licence at your municipality. A stolen licence needs a police report first, and cases that need a medical certificate go to a counter appointment.
How it works
Renew a locally issued licence or replace one that is lost, stolen or damaged.
A driving licence issued in the country where you live must be renewed when it expires and replaced if it is lost, stolen or damaged or your details change. You usually need ID, a recent photo and your old licence or, after a theft, sometimes a police report; for some categories or ages, a medical certificate is also required. Some countries let you renew online, while others require a visit. If your licence was issued in another country, use the exchange of a foreign licence instead.

Some towns send you online first
Municipalities differ: one points you to the online application and books a visit only if that fails, another needs you at the counter, and a third offers both. A stolen licence is different again, because a police report comes first.
