Renewals and replacements are handled by your own municipality. Online renewal, booking a visit to apply, the photo you need and the way you collect the new licence can all differ from one municipality to the next.

    Book the driving licence application at the counter, or renew online, and collect without an appointment.

    For a counter application bring valid identity documentation, your old licence, a compliant colour photo no older than six months and any required CBR (Dutch driving test and medical fitness assessor) decision. There is no counter photo service. At collection bring the collection confirmation, ID and old licence for surrender. If you move meanwhile, collect in the municipality where you applied.
