Social welfare centres in Belgium, by city

Ask at the centre of the municipality where you live

Larger cities have several service points, spread over different neighbourhoods. Some want an online request first, others hold drop-in sessions on set days, and a few hand out numbered tickets that can run out early. Find your city to see how its centre works before you head there.

  • Mons

CPAS de Mons — Accueil Social

    Place Nervienne, 7000 Mons

Come to the social reception on weekdays or book an appointment, and tell staff if your need is urgent.

Bring identity and bank cards, information about everyone living in your home even if not registered there, and evidence of household income, assets and expenses. Take your lease and rent-payment evidence. For integration income, bring Forem registration or evidence of incapacity for work as applicable; staff also check health-insurance membership and other potential rights. Ask which further documents your case requires, including the period your bank statements should cover.

  • Mons

CPAS de Mons — Antenne de Cuesmes

Place de Cuesmes 3, 7033 Mons

Phone ahead to ask when a social worker can see you and how to lodge a first request.

Describe your needs, any urgent deadline and whether you already have a CPAS (public social welfare centre) file. Keep relevant notices or bills available and ask which identification, household, income, asset, expense and housing evidence your assessment needs. Follow the worker’s instructions for a formal application and retain any receipt; a general enquiry is not automatically a completed claim.

  • Mons

CPAS de Mons — Antenne de Jemappes

Avenue du Roi Albert 673, Le Phare, 7012 Mons

Call before travelling, because the Jemappes team keeps its own arrangements, separate from the main reception.

Describe your needs, any urgent deadline and whether you already have a CPAS (public social welfare centre) file. Keep relevant notices or bills available and ask which identification, household, income, asset, expense and housing evidence your assessment needs.
