Residence card offices in Belgium, town by town

Pick your town to see how its foreigners’ desk handles cards

Some towns ask you to book online, others want a phone call first, and a few receive visitors only on certain afternoons. Open your city to find out whether its office orders cards, hands them over or both, and what to bring along.

Order the card by appointment and collect it yourself later, because your fingerprints are checked again.

Take the present residence card or the police loss/theft certificate where applicable. For a photo taken elsewhere, use an ICAO-compliant image no more than six months old; alternatively use the free counter photo. Bring the PIN/PUK letter for collection and surrender the old card or applicable temporary annex so the new card can be activated. Standard fees: €27 for EU/F/M/N groups and €27.60 for A/B/H/I/J; duplicates and urgent production have different fees. Keep your national passport or identity document valid. The urgent card-production option costs €129.50, or €131.30 for an urgent duplicate, with an indicative one or two working days. Staff determine the actual ready date when you apply, taking the application time, weekends and holidays into account. This accelerates card production, not residence approval.
