Offices that exchange foreign driving licences in Poland

Pick the city or county office for your home address

Licence exchange is handled by the transport department of a city office, a county office or, in Warsaw, a district office, and the right one is the office for where you live. Some offices start with a document check before anything else, and the exam rules depend on the licence you hold. Prepare supporting papers such as a photocopy of the licence and your residence document.

The city keeps your foreign licence and returns it to the issuing country, so ask before posting any originals.

Prepare the application, a compliant 35 × 45 mm photo taken within six months, a licence copy and original, ID, payment evidence and applicable residence or six-month study evidence. Translation is conditional: standard EU-format licences are exempt under the local instructions. Medical or psychological certificates are required only where applicable. Confirm the non-convention test requirements before booking the ordinary exchange.
