Offices that exchange foreign driving licences in Poland

Pick the city or county office for your home address

Licence exchange is handled by the transport department of a city office, a county office or, in Warsaw, a district office, and the right one is the office for where you live. Some offices start with a document check before anything else, and the exam rules depend on the licence you hold. Prepare supporting papers such as a photocopy of the licence and your residence document.

Book before you go, and ask for a text or e-mail notice when your new licence is ready.

Bring the application printed double-sided at original size on one A4 sheet, identity, a recent 35 × 45 mm colour photograph, payment proof and a copy of the foreign licence with the required attached sworn or consular translation. Certain EU-format licences are exempt from translation. Medical and psychological evidence is conditional on the case. Tell the office if a protected status affects foreign-authority verification. Surrender the foreign licence when receiving the Polish one.
