Offices that exchange foreign driving licences in Poland

Pick the city or county office for your home address

Licence exchange is handled by the transport department of a city office, a county office or, in Warsaw, a district office, and the right one is the office for where you live. Some offices start with a document check before anything else, and the exam rules depend on the licence you hold. Prepare supporting papers such as a photocopy of the licence and your residence document.

A licence from outside the EU, EEA or Switzerland must be handled in person, because online filing only covers EU licences.

Prepare the application, licence copy and original, ID, a 35 × 45 mm photo taken within six months and proof of payment. Foreign nationals need residence-right evidence. A sworn or consular Polish translation is normally required, except for licences matching the specified EU format. Ask about additional evidence for an expired licence.
