Offices that exchange foreign driving licences in Poland

Pick the city or county office for your home address

Licence exchange is handled by the transport department of a city office, a county office or, in Warsaw, a district office, and the right one is the office for where you live. Some offices start with a document check before anything else, and the exam rules depend on the licence you hold. Prepare supporting papers such as a photocopy of the licence and your residence document.

The Polish licence can only be ordered once the country that issued yours confirms its details.

Prepare the application, recent 35 × 45 mm colour photo, ID, foreign licence and residence/address evidence. Ask whether a sworn or consular translation is required; compliant EU-format licences are exempt. The document’s format and required data matter, not just its issuing country: a licence not meeting the Vienna Convention requirements can require a PKK and theory test, subject to the EU/EEA/Swiss exception. Confirm the route before paying.
