Service points for health insurance questions in the Netherlands

Insurer service points and city desks in a few cities

Help comes from two kinds of places: an insurer’s own service point, and a municipal desk that explains the city’s low-income health insurance scheme. Several ask you to phone first or visit only by appointment, and you may need your citizen service number (BSN) ready. Which of the two a city has, and how to reach it, differs from place to place.

Call first to talk through your insurance question, and the adviser can arrange a visit if one is needed.

Have your policy or customer details and relevant correspondence ready. Ask which identity or other documents are needed for your particular question; do not send unnecessary medical information. For a reimbursement claim, ask about the appropriate submission route. The insurer also identifies a claim-document letterbox to the left of the main entrance at Haagse Schouwweg 12; leaving documents there is not a consultation or proof of reimbursement approval. Keep copies and submission confirmations. Verify the current policy terms and effective date before changing cover.
